A Tim Tag for CC3C

When I say it has been awhile since I have posted, it’s been awhile! Four years…. A lot has happened in that time – a house fire, having a new home built, acquired two new Chihuahuas and soon to be empty nesters. But that is a post for another time.

I heard about this Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 3 from following Tim Holtz on Instagram. New challenges will be posted every two weeks. This first challenge is called paint marbling and it is sponsored by Inspiration Emporium. I needed to make something for our oldest son’s birthday. This depicts Charlie so well. He loves photography and is going to school for illustration and design.

tag for charlieI began with using Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage and Spiced Marmalade for the marbling. I sponged Vintage Photo around the outer edge of the tag. Stamps and embellishments are by Tim Holtz as well. I must admit, that I put the tag into a card by Blue Mountain Arts that brought tears to my eyes when it spoke about the bond between a Mother and her son!

I can’t wait to see all the other creations by those participating. I love picking up new tips as I read through their blogs.

Happy Creating!

  2. Cheri...I'm so glad that you decided to join us at CC3C! Your marbled tag is very cool. I've always love Tim's umbrella man, too and I love how you've used him on your tag. Thanks for sharing! <3 Candy

  3. I'm sure your son will love this. Umbrella Man is a classic - I need to get him. I've tried this patina'd background before and never quite got the hang of it. You've mastered it. Well done.
