Compendium of Curiosities III Challenge 2

IMG_5739I have finally been able to create something for the second challenge over on Linda Ledbetter's Blog. This time the challenge was Distress Glitter found on page 56 of Tim’s book. The challenge is being sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique so if you need any supplies be sure to check the site out.

When I sat down to work on my project my first thought was to make a card but after the work began, I ended up with this 4 by 4 canvas. I began by cutting a seahorse out of grunge paper then coloring it with Peacock Feathers ink and distress glitter. While that dried, I stamped the sea anemone with Tea Dye randomly on the pp. Next I mixed Antique Linen and  Peeled Paint distress glitter together to resemble sand on the ocean bottom. Using Glossy Accents, I swirled it along the bottom of the paper and applied the glitter. I sponged Tea Dye ink around the outer edge of the square. For the final touches, I added netting, a strip of pp, Robin’s Nest dots (for bubble and the eye) and actual shells found in the ocean. Living in Daytona Beach, there is no shortage of shells Winking smile

Here is the completed canvas: IMG_5731

If you like my little canvas, I would love to hear your comments.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
